Quality Time

Choosing to spend quality time with family is a way of showing them how much you love them.

I like to seek opportunities, moments, and events to get away with my loved ones. When we choose to spend quality time with the people we love, we’re spending the most valuable currency that we have as human beings: time.

When I give time to my family—whether it’s a whole weekend or just 5 minutes of my full attention—I’m investing in our relationship. Whether we’re doing chores or playing, hanging out indoors or outdoors, or just enjoying TV together, we’re creating lasting memories. Those memories are more valuable than gifts and money.

We all get 24 hours a day, no more and no less. You can’t put time on layaway. You can’t reason with it or bargain with it. You can only choose to invest it in certain things and not in others. It’s the most valuable currency you have. It cannot be exchanged, given back, or returned.

When you choose to spend time with someone, you’re choosing to spend time on someone. By choosing to spend your hours with someone, you’re investing in lasting memories which are the most valuable thing you can invest in.

Gifts can be returned or given back. Money, cars, and houses can be sold. They have price tags. But relationships and memories cannot be sold, bargained for, or valued at a material price.

Spend time with your family. You won’t regret it.
